scaleThe basic formula for weight loss has never (and will never, I might add) change.  Less calories in, increase exercise.  But, I recently ran across these added pointers to help the weight come off a little quicker.  Just a few tips to keep in mind.

1)  Drink light-colored or white tea.  It turns out our human fat cell becomes less fat when treated with an extract from white tea.  Green or black tea goes through more processing.  The lighter tea keeps more of the compounds that help with fat-cell metabolism.

2)  Eat slower and stop eating when you feel about 80% full.  If you can believe it, eating too quickly and eating until you are full can triple your chances of becoming overweight.

3)  Keep a food diary.  If you are tracking everything going in, there is a better chance you will be better able to control it.  A recent study shows keeping these types of diaries doubles your chance of weight loss success.

With the new year upon us, give these a try.  I like to keep things simple.  There’s a better chance that I will be successful.

In the Madison area there are a lot of weight loss centers around if you are looking for support.
