madisonwinterBecause we spend more time inside in the winter, indoor allergens such as pet dander and dust mites can be a problem.

Here are some tips on winter allergies:

1. Give over-the-counter allergy medicines a try.

2. Keep pets out of bedrooms.

3. Wash bedding weekly in hot water, dry on high heat.

4. Use zippered allergen-proof covers on pillows and mattresses.

5. Wear mask over mouth and nose when vacuuming or dusting.

6. Use vacuum cleaner with high-efficiency particulate air filter.

If these tips don’t work for you, you may want to seek medical advice.
